HAZLETON, Pa. - The Keystone College women's volleyball team enjoyed a 3-0 straight-set victory at Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday night in non-conference action.
The Giants grabbed the road win, taking set one, 25-11, followed by a come-from-behind 27-25 win in set two. Keystone sealed the sweep with a 25-23 set three victory.
Keystone is now 5-8 and will begin CSAC play on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m., competing at Clarks Summit (0-13). The Lions are now 6-3 and host PSU Brandywine (4-4) on Thursday, Sept. 29.
Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) enjoyed a match-high 15 kills and tallied 11 digs for a double-double. Jackson hit .278 on the night. Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City) tallied four kills and one block.
Sage Superko (Laceyville, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) notched four kills, hitting .300, while Hannah Ankerbrand-Ochoa (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) registered 21 assists, six aces, and seven digs on the night. Devany Obin (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton), Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area), and Karielys Gonzalez Ramirez (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) combined for 25 digs.
Keystone hit .304 in the first set and limited the Lions to negative attack percentages in every set on Tuesday.
