Arrieta and Heller Score in Loss to William Paterson

PATERSON, N.J.- The Keystone College men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 defeat to William Paterson Wednesday night at Pioneer Soccer Park. With the loss, the Giants fall to 1-2 while the Pioneers remain undefeated with a  2-0-1 record. 

Standout Players 

  • Luis Arrieta (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) got the scoring started for Keystone with a header goal off a free kick from Axel Gonzalez (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards). 

  • Gonzalez would later find Ethan Heller (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) in the 42nd minute for his first goal of his collegiate career.  

  • William Paterson was able to cut into the Giants lead with a PK goal in the 43rd minute by David Moreira. 

  • In the second half, David Youn would tie the match with a 49th minute goal. Adrian Dominguez provided the game winning PK goal in the 70th minute to give William Patterson the win.  

Inside the Box Score 

Keystone outshot William Paterson 11-8 with five of those shots being on goal. They also had a 5-1 advantage on corners. There were four yellow cards given during the match.  

What's Next 

The Giants will prepare for another away soccer match on Sept. 10 when they go against Elmira College at 4 p.m. William Paterson will face off against Muhlenberg College on the same day at 5 p.m.
