LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College women's basketball team defeated Cairn University 79-72 Wednesday evening in the Gambal Athletic Center. Keystone improves to 6-10 (5-4 CSAC). Cairn falls to 4-11 (2-7 CSAC).
Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) led Keystone with 21 points and 4 assists. Kyleigh Monk (Havre de Grace, Md./John Carroll School) had 16 points and four assists. Off the bench, Kaitlyn Slaboda (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) had 11 points and six rebounds. Kamiah Caraway (Morrisville, Pa./Morrisville) and Angelise Sanchez (Atlanta, Ga./Ocoee) combined for 14 points. Cairn had three players that ended the contest with double figures. Kailee Sobrino led the Highlanders with 30 points. She shot 11-from-18 from the field. Taylor Hinson recorded a double-double as she scored 18 points with 11 rebounds. Tamia Warner had 16 points and three assists.
The Giants shot 38 percent from the field and 43 percent from three. Keystone outscored Cairn 47-34 in the first half to help secure the victory.
Keystone will host the University of Valley Forge on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. Cairn will welcome Notre Dame of Maryland University on the same day.
