LA PLUME. Pa.- The Keystone College women's basketball team enjoyed a come from behind victory in conference play against the University of Valley Forge, 54-44 Saturday afternoon in the Gambal Athletic Center. Keystone improve to 7-10 (6-4 CSAC) while Valley Forge drops to 3-10 (1-7 CSAC).
Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) posted a game high 10 points with three assists. Renata Alberici (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) almost had a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds. Kwashanti Holmes (Yonkers, N.Y./Woodlands) scored eight points off the bench. Izzy Rosario (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) posted a game high five steals in the contest while Kaitlyn Slaboda (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) pitched with five blocks. The Patriots were led by Mariah Matthews and Jessi Manning who both scored 12 points. Matthews was one rebound away from a double-double.
Valley Forge outscored Keystone 18-4 in the first quarter, but trimmed the deficit to 24-17 at the end of the first half. The Giants offense came alive in the second half as they went on a 37-20 second half run to complete the comeback. The Patriots outrebounded the Giants, 45-37.
After two straight home CSAC games, Keystone will travel to St. Elizabeth University for a 6 p.m. matchup. Valley Forge hosts Wilson College on the same day.
