Giants Drop to Defenders 84-66

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - The Keystone College men's basketball team fell at Clarks Summit University 84-66 in CSAC action on Wednesday evening.

With the defeat, the Giants drop to 8-10 (4-3 CSAC) and will remain on the road, traveling to Wilson College on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. The Defenders improve to 4-12 (3-4 CSAC) and host Bryn Athyn on Saturday.

This broke a 10-game winning streak for Keystone against CSU, with the Defenders last beating the Giants on Feb. 3, 2016.

Daivel Jackson (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) notched his 12th double-double of the season with 21 points and a game-high 15 boards. Javen Flowers-Smith (Atlanta, Ga./Pembroke Pines Charter) tallied 22 points, four steals, and four assists.

Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) enjoyed 10 points and a game-high six steals.

For CSU, four players finished in double figures as Ashton West and Hunter Plantz combined for 42 points, with Plantz pulling down 12 boards. Kelvin Chest and Latief Mustafaa scored 12 points apiece.

Clarks Summit led 38-30 at the break and outscored Keystone 46-36 in the second half. Keystone suffered 26 turnovers on the night and shot 34.5 from the field and 29.2 from deep.

The Defenders shot 50 percent from three (10-of-20) and 84.2 percent from the foul line (16-of-19). 

Keystone trimmed the deficit to 10 points (59-49) with 10:34 to play in regulation. However, CSU went on a 21-10 run in the next 7:10 to put the game away.
