LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to Notre Dame of Maryland University Saturday evening at the Keystone College Turf Field.
Keystone falls to 3-11 (2-6 United East Skye Division). Notre Dame moves to 6-7 (4-4 United East Skye Division).
The women's soccer team honored its seniors Kabrina Birmingham (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City), Ashley Kirchoff (Cliffside Park, N.J./Leonia), and Hailey Dunham (Southgate, Mich./Inter-City Baptist) before the start of the match.
Dunham got the scoring started for Keystone with a goal in the 9th minute off an assist from Birmingham. Annie Metzger (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) secured eight saves in the defeat.
Notre Dame was led by Emma Alasica who scored twice and added an assist. Alascia tallied a PK goal in the 10th minute followed by a second half unassisted goal in the 75th minute. Tchala Ungwa got in the score column with a tally in the 38th minute. Mackenzie Lookingland contributed with an assist.
The Gators outshot the Giants, 19-6. They limited Keystone to no shots in the second half. Notre Dame had a narrow 4-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Keystone concludes the 2023 season on Tuesday, Oct. 26 when they battle Cairn University at home. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
