LA PLUME, Pa.- The No. 1 seed Keystone College field hockey team secured their spot in the United East Conference Championship with a dominant 10-0 win over No. 4 seed Lancaster Bible College Wednesday evening in the United East Conference Semifinals.
Keystone improves to 10-5, and Lancaster Bible ends their season at 4-13.
Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul) poured in a game high four goals and added one assist. Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College) chipped in with two goals while Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit), Belen Rodriguez (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Santa BrÃgida), Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West), and Lillian Kennedy-Butler (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll School) scored once. Mascia and Morley combined for six assists on the night. In addition, Morley had a defensive save.
For Lancaster Bible, Amanda Hoover provided three saves in the cage. Haley Stahl, Hope Swarey, and Alyssa Hamilton all made one defensive save.
The Giants outshot the Chargers 22-2 and held a 10-3 advantage on penalty corners. Â
Keystone will face No. 3 seed Cedar Crest in the conference finals on Saturday Nov. 4 with a time to be announced.
