SPRINGFIELD, MA.- The Keystone College women's basketball team suffered a 100-56 loss to Salve Regina Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of Hampton Inn Women's Basketball Classic hosted by Western New England University.
Keystone drops to 1-2 while Salve Regina improves to 2-3.
Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) led Keystone with 22 points. Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) recorded a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) and Kameryn Cortinas (Los Banos, Calif./Pacheco) combined for 14 points and nine rebounds.
Salve Regina had four players with double digit points as Ashley Rourke and Sofia Neary both fell two rebounds short of a double-double. Rourke scored 21 points with eight rebounds while Neary tallied 20 points and eight boards.
The Seahawks were up 47-30 at halftime and used a 30-point third quarter to pull away with the victory. Salve Regina shot 52 percent from the field and Keystone was 28 percent.
The Giants will return to Northeastern Pennsylvania to prepare for their final game before Thanksgiving break as the team welcomes Marywood University to the Gambal Athletic Center on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.
