Women’s Basketball Suffer 75-67 Loss to Marywood

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College women's basketball team dropped a close game at home to Marywood University 75-67 Tuesday evening in the Gambal Athletic Center.

Keystone drops to 1-3 while Marywood improves to 3-3.

Bry Hicks (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) led Keystone with 20 points and eight rebounds. Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) recorded 15 points, four rebounds and two assists. Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) was a point and a rebound away from a double-double as she had nine points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Angelise Sanchez (Atlanta, Ga./Ocoee) scored eight points off the bench.

Rachel McDonald was the leading scorer for Marywood with 23 points and five assists. Alli Griscavage chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

The Pacers got off to a hot start as they opened the first quarter of the game on a 19-6 run. Keystone was able to get on back as they outscored Marywood 21-18 in the second quarter. They trailed 37-27 at halftime.

In the third quarter was when Keystone started to turn it on as they poured in 27 points in the third quarter as the Pacers held only a three-point lead at the conclusion of the quarter. Despite the great comeback effort from the Giants, Marywood pulled away and claimed the nonconference victory.

The Giants are back in action following Thanksgiving when the team opens United East Conference play on Tuesday, Nov. 28 against St. Elizabeth at home with tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
