CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team picked up their first win of the 2023-24 season by defeating Wilson College 86-85 Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Keystone moves to 1-6 (1-1 United East Skye Division). Wilson falls to 3-4 (1-1 United East Skye Division).
This victory is the first head coaching win for Keystone head men's basketball coach Andrew Kettel.
Brandon Scott (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) scored a game high 31 points with five rebounds and seven assists. Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) recorded 18 points with four rebounds. D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) tallied 10 points and seven rebounds.
Wilson was led by Darryl Garib who recorded a double-double with 44 points with 13 rebounds. Gary Robertson and Ethan Wilson combined for 31 points.
The Phoenix took their first lead of the game with approximately 20 seconds remaining in the contest win with two successful free throw attempts by Wilson. With no timeouts remaining, the Giants drove down the court where Scott would make a successful layup with less than a second remaining to give Keystone the win.
Keystone will faceoff with Division I James Madison University tomorrow afternoon with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
