CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Despite playing in the program's first conference title game since 2013, the fourth-seeded Keystone College men's basketball team fell just short at second-seeded Wilson College 89-68 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) championship game on Saturday afternoon.
The Giants end their season at 14-14 while the Phoenix improve to 19-8, winning their 12th-straight contest and second-consecutive CSAC title. Wilson earns the automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
For Keystone, Daivel Jackson (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston), Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) and Javen Flowers-Smith (Atlanta, Ga./Pembroke Pines Charter) all tallied 16 points while Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) notched 10 points.
Wilson was led by Darryl Garib, who scored 29 points with 12 rebounds on route to being named the MVP. Garib scored 21 first-half points.Â
Rick Godwin, Jr. also notched 29 points while Antonio Bussey provided 13 points and 12 boards.
Keystone trailed 48-37 at halftime. Wilson shot 51.4 percent from the field on the day and out-rebounded the Giants 46-31, with 14 offensive rebounds. The Phoenix tallied 16 points off of Keystone turnovers and had 19 second-chance points.
