CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Keystone College women's basketball team dropped a nail-biter on the road to Wilson College 57-55 Wednesday evening in a battle against one of the top teams in the conference.
With the loss, Keystone goes to 8-14 (7-8 CSAC). Wilson jumps to 15-6 (12-3 CSAC). Â
Kwashanti Holmes (Yonkers, N.Y./Woodlands) had a game high of 20 points with five rebounds and three assists. She shot 8-13 from the field. Â Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) contributed 14 points and three assists. Izzy Rosario (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) and Kaitlyn Slaboda (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) combined for 15 points and 21 rebounds. Laela Robinson led the Phoenix with 15 points and three rebounds. Â
In the finals seconds of the fourth quarter, Keystone tied the game at 55 thanks to a jumper by Berry. A Keystone foul with four seconds left sent Jewels Torres of Wilson to the free throw line where she was able to make both attempts to give the Phoenix the lead and the victory.
The Giants shot 37 percent in tonight's game and grabbed 36 rebounds. This evening's matchup consisted of seven lead changesÂ
Keystone will be back home on Saturday, Feb. 11 as they welcome Rosemont College at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. Wilson will be heading to St. Elizabeth University on the same day.Â
