Giants Extend Win Streak to Six; Defeat North Park & FDU-Florham

Hinkley becomes program's all-time wins leader with 30 career victories.

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Keystone College baseball team extended its winning streak to six-straight victories on Saturday, defeating North Park 6-5 before handing FDU-Florham a 19-5 defeat.

The Giants are now 6-4 and will face Hamilton College tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

Game One: Keystone 6, North Park 5

The Giants tallied four runs in the top of the eighth and held off North Park in the ninth.

Anthony Raimo (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth inning to give Keystone a 5-3 lead. Raimo finished the game 2-for-3. Greg Verano (Raritan, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) went 3-for-4 with a solo blast in the third.

Josh Parks (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma) and Griffin Yastremski (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) both tallied an RBI while Jason Thomas (Miami, Fla./Barbara Goleman) went 2-for-5 at the leadoff spot.

Brandon Valles (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) started and struck out two in four innings. Drew Sorrentino (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) earned the win in a long relief stint, tossing 4.2 innings with six strikeouts. Logan Lixie (Tamarac, Fla./J.P. Taravella) earned the one-out save.

Game Two: Keystone 19, FDU-Florham 5

Keystone exploded for 15 runs in the first four innings, earning 18 hits against the Devils.

Raimo stayed red hot, going 2-for-3 with a grand slam in the second. Thomas finished 3-for-4 with three RBI while Verano went 3-for-4 with four RBI.

Robert Estrada (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris), Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic) and Josh Parks (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma) all collected two hits each.

Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) earned the win, going five innings with four strikeouts, two groundouts and nine flyouts for his 30th-career victory, the most all-time in program history, surpassing Jeremy Pierson (2002-06; 29 wins).

Cam Hale (Covington, Wash./Kentridge) appeared in relief, tossing two frames with four strikeouts.
