LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's lacrosse team were defeated 15-5 Saturday afternoon by Alvernia University in nonconference action. Keystone drops to 0-3 with Alvernia improving to 4-2.
Ryan Smith (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) tallied two goals for Keystone which all came in the second half. AJ Hackenburg scored one goal and dished out an assist. Izaiah Simon (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) and Tyler Shertzer (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) both scored a goal while Sean Ott (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne) had one assist on the day. Cody Dembski (Agoura Hills, Calif./Agoura) had a game high 13 ground balls and won 17 faceoffs.
Alvernia was led by Colin McFadyen who had five goals and five assists on the day. Kenny Howley also scored five goals for the Golden Wolves. Jack Keenan posted six assists and four groundballs.
Alvernia outshot Keystone, 50-33, and had the advantage on groundballs, 33-29.
Keystone will prepare for their first away game of the season as they face Keuka College next Saturday, Mar. 25 at 4 p.m. Alvernia will host Penn College on Mar. 22 at 7 p.m.
