AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Keystone College baseball team wrapped up its spring break trip in Florida on Monday, falling to The College of Wooster 4-3 on a walk-off single.
The Giants (6-6) return north and travel to William Paterson on Thursday, March 23 at 3:30 p.m. The Fighting Scots improve to 4-4.
Wooster jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first before Keystone cut that in half, thanks to an RBI double from Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman) in the sixth. Following a solo homer by Wooster, Josh Parks (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma) doubled, scoring Griffin Yastremski (Bath, N.Y./Haverling), to make it a 3-2 game in the eighth.
Jason Thomas (Miami, Fla./Barbara Goleman) tied the game at 3-3 in the ninth, scoring on a wild pitch. Wooster came through with a one-out walk-off single to end the contest in the bottom of the ninth.
Parks and Robert Estrada (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) collected two hits each as the Giants finished with eight on the day. Anthony Raimo (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) drew three walks.
Dominic Verrastro (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland) earned the start and struck out five in 2.1 innings. Brayan Villar (West Orange, N.J./Belleville) threw 5.2 innings of extended relief, striking out seven with six groundouts.
