Baseball Takes Two From Wilson on Saturday

La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College baseball team moved into sole possession of first place in the CSAC standings by virtue of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of visiting Wilson College.

The Giants (19-11, 11-1 CSAC) won game one, 7-5, before taking game two, 6-2 in six innings due to rain. Wilson moves to 24-8 (9-3 CSAC).

Game One: Keystone 7, Wilson 5

The Giants plated five runs in the third and held off a late Phoenix rally.

Justin Mann (St. John's, Fla./Bartram Trail) finished 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Robert Estrada (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) went 2-for-2 with two walks. Jason Thomas (Miami, Fla./Barbara Goleman) drove in two while Griffin Yastremski (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) drew three walks and launched a solo homer to right in the third, his seventh of the spring.

Brayan Villar (West Orange, N.J./Belleville) earned his fourth win, tossing six innings with four strikeouts, six flyouts and five groundouts, throwing 105 pitches. Anthony Mierez (Granby, Conn./Rockville) and Tyler Mullen (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland) appeared in relief, with Mullen earning the save.

Game Two: Keystone 6, Wilson 2 (Six innings)

Keystone scored three runs in the sixth before the game was called due to rain.

Yastremski finished 2-for-3 with three RBI while Mann, Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman), and Giovanni Diaz (Bronx, N.Y./Christopher Columbus) all collected RBI.

Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) won his fifth game of the season, going 5.1 innings with seven flyouts and seven groundouts on 67 pitches. Tyler Mullen (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland) earned his second save of the day.
