CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Keystone College softball team enjoyed a doubleheader sweep at Clarks Summit University on Saturday in CSAC action.
The Giants are now 9-17 (8-4 CSAC) and will host Notre Dame of Maryland on Thursday, April 27. The Defenders slip to 9-19 (2-8 CSAC).
Game One: Keystone 4, CSU 1
The Giants tallied three first-inning runs.
Mara Brooks (Manassas, Va./Brentsville) and Kabrina Birmingham (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) drew three walks each. Elle Olivero (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) went 2-for-4.
Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) earned her fifth win of the spring, striking out six while forcing five flyouts and eight groundouts.
Game Two: Keystone 13, CSU 0 (5 innings)
Keystone notched 14 hits, scoring six times in the first and four times in the fifth.
Staple and Brooks recorded three hits each, Olivero drove in four runs and Mallory Perkins (Norwalk, OH/Edison) enjoyed three RBI.
Clare Johns (Skippack, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) picked up her fourth victory, striking out two with seven flyouts and six groundouts.
