SCRANTON, Pa. - The Keystone College softball team dropped a pair of CSAC games to Notre Dame of Maryland on Thursday, falling to the Gators 8-1 and 7-1 at Magis Field on the University of Scranton.
The Giants (9-19, 8-6 CSAC) will now host St. Elizabeth tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Gators improve to 14-15 (6-8 CSAC).
Keystone honored former teammate Riley Houser in a pre-game ceremony for Suicide Awareness.
Game One: NDM 8, Keystone 1
Keystone outhit Notre Dame 14-13 but the Gators used a five-run fifth inning to win the opener.
Elle Olivero (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) went 4-for-4 while Alyssa Booth (Holland, Pa./Council Rock North) enjoyed a 3-for-4 showing. Isabella Mandarano (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) went 2-for-4.
Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) forced six flyouts, 10 groundouts and struck out five, including her 200th career punchout.
Game Two: NDM 7, Keystone 1
The Gators outhit the Giants 12-4 in the nightcap, scoring four runs in the sixth.
Mandarano ripped a triple, Mara Brooks (Manassas, Va./Brentsville) tallied a double while Booth and Brooke Staple (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale Area) tallied base knocks.
Clare Johns (Skippack, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) struck out five with 10 flyouts and six groundouts in the defeat.
