Giants Take Down Highlanders for Fourth Conference Win

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College baseball team took down Cairn University, 11-9 Friday afternoon in CSAC action. Keystone moves to 11-10 (4-0 CSAC). Cairn drops to 7-13 (1-4 CSAC).

Robert Estrada (Jersey City, N.J./Ferris) went 4-for-5 on the day. Griffin Yastremski (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI. Greg Verano (Raritan, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), Chris Hadsall (Lehman, Pa./Lake Lehman), and Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) all finished with two base knocks. Julio Acosta (Elizabeth, N.J./Hudson Catholic) enjoyed a two-run home run in the fifth inning.

On the pitching side, Jordan Art (Greenfield Township, Pa./Lakeland) picked up his third win of the season as he went six innings with five strikeouts. Dominic Verastro, Nick Termini (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights), Cam Hale (Covington, Wash./Kentridge), and Logan Lixie (Tamarac, Fla./J.P. Taravella) appeared in relief with Lixie picking up his third save of the season.

Cairn went up 1-0 at the top of the first, but Keystone got the lead back thanks to a three-run home run by Yastremski in the bottom of the first. Keystone tacked on more runs in the second, third, and fifth inning. However, the Highlanders started to mount a comeback in the ninth as they put up five runs, but the Giants were able to hold for the win. The Giants and Highlanders combined for 25 hits in today's game.

Keystone will face off at Cairn tomorrow afternoon at 12 p.m. in a seven-inning doubleheader CSAC matchup.
