GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.- The Keystone College field hockey team defeated Gwynedd Mercy 4-2 Saturday afternoon.
Keystone moves to 4-2 while Gwynedd Mercy falls to 0-6.
The Giants had four different goal scorers as Gabby Lodato (Union, N.J./Union), Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College), Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul), and Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit) scored for Keystone. Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) and Tomada tallied two assists while Morley chipped in with one. Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) made five saves.
For the Griffins, Maddie Jeter added the first goal for Gwynedd late in the first quarter off of a pass from Hailey Crosby. Mackenzie Reed provided the other goal 24 seconds into the second quarter.
Gwynedd Mercy narrowly outshot Keystone, 15-13. The Giants had a 12-8 advantage on penalty corners.
Keystone will return home to face Misericordia University on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
