LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College field hockey team won a close one tonight as they defeated Misericordia University 2-1 Tuesday evening at the Keystone College Turf Field.
Keystone improves to 5-2 and Misericordia drops to 2-5.
All of the goals in the match came in the first quarter and were unassisted. Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul) added the first goal of the match eight minutes in. Misericordia's Meghan Radnoff added the equalizer four minutes later. Belen Rodriguez (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Santa BrÃgida) added the insurance goal with five seconds remaining in the quarter to give the Giants the lead and eventually the win. Hannhad Osbahr made one save.
Keystone outshot Misericordia, 11-4. The Giants held the Cougars to one shot in the second half. Keystone held a 5-4 margin on penalty corners.
Keystone opens United East Conference play this Saturday, Sept. 30 against Wilson College at 2 p.m.
