Men’s Soccer Falls Short Against Clarks Summit in Conference Opener

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.- The Keystone College men's soccer were defeated by Clarks Summit University 1-0 Thursday afternoon in the team's first conference match of the season.

With the loss, Keystone drops to 0-8-1 (0-1 United East). Clarks Summit improves to 2-5-1 (1-0 United East).

This is Clarks Summit's first win over Keystone in 14 years. The Defenders defeated the Giants 3-2 back on Oct. 8. 2009.

Hector Camaja Jr. started in goal in the conference opener and recorded five saves. Clarks Summit's lone goal came late in the first half as David Sage found the back of the net in the 42nd minute off of a pass from Caleb Drake.

The Giants narrowly outshot the Defenders, 13-10. Both Keystone and CSU combined for 10 shots on goal. Trevor Lagarde (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) compiled two shots on goal and Francois Elize (Fresno, Tex./Lee) and Noe Euceda Rodriguez (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) had one shot on goal. Keystone held a 7-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Keystone returns home following five straight away matches as they host Rosemont College on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m.
