ROSEMONT, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team dropped a tough United East Conference bout to Rosemont College 78-76 Monday evening.
Keystone goes to 5-12 (5-4 United East Skye Division) while Rosemont goes to 4-13 (3-5 United East Skye Division).
Tyler Fox (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) exploded for a career-high 23 points off the bench. The freshman guard shot 80 percent from the field and shot 7-of-8 from three. D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) recorded another double-double as he had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Scott (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) scored 13 points and added four assists.
Rosemont was led by Denelle Holly who scored a game high 26 points with six rebounds and six assists. Dejuan Taylor concluded the game with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Zaki Gomez and Fatayn Wesley combined for 20 points.
Keystone was up 37-32 at the conclusion of the first half. The second half of the conference match went back and forth as both teams battled until the clock struck zero. In the closing seconds of the game, Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) found Fox for three to tie the game at 76 a piece with approximately ten seconds remaining.
With the final seconds ticking away, Rosemont drove down the court where Holley would draw a foul while attempting a jump shot which sent him to the free throw line. Holley would sink both free throw attempts to give the Ravens the win.
The Giants and Ravens shot 50.8 and 45.2 percent from the field, respectively. The game consisted of five lead changes and the score being tied four times.
Keystone will host Clarks Summit University on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. in the team's inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Game.
