Men’s Basketball Pulls Away for a 78-71 Win Over Clarks Summit

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team picked up a huge win at home as they defeated Clarks Summit University 78-71 Wednesday evening in the inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Game.

Keystone improves to 6-12 (6-4 United East Skye Division) as Clarks Summit drops to 3-16 (2-9 United East Skye Division).

Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) poured in a game high 27 points with six rebounds. DaShaun Johnson (Montgomery Village, Md./Clarksburg) scored 20 points with four rebounds. Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) added 10 points and seven assists.

Juan Izquierdo was the top scorer for the Defenders as he tallied 11 points and six rebounds. Kelvin Chest, Ashton West, and Courtenay Houston all had nine points.

With the game tied at 71 apiece, D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) found Johnson who hit a massive go ahead three with 36 seconds remaining. The Giants played clutch defense after the basket and were able to pull away with the win. Keystone trailed 44-37 at the break and was able to outscored Clarks Summit 41-27 in the second half.

Keystone will host Rosemont College on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m.
