ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Keystone College field hockey team secured their third conference win as they defeated Cedar Crest College 3-0 Wednesday evening in a rematch of last year's conference championship.
The Giants improve to 6-6 (2-1 United East). Cedar Crest drops to 3-12 (0-3 United East).
Belen Rodriguez (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Santa BrÃgida) scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College) and Jordan Vandermark (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown). Vandermark would later find Deanna Cole (Franklinville, N.J./Delsea Regional) who would scored her first collegiate goal in the third quarter. Lucia Cisilino (Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Jose) added an insurance penalty stroke goal late in the fourth quarter. Fifth-year goalkeeper Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) made six saves in the win.
The Giants heavily outshot the Falcons, 32-5. They also had 13-5 advantage on penalty corners.
Keystone will head to Maryland for their next game as they take on St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m.
