Wrestling Swept at Wilkes Quad Meet

WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The Keystone College wrestling team competed in quad meet hosted by Wilkes University Saturday evening.

The Giants suffered three defeats as they fell to the Colonels 44-9, 40-9 to New Jersey City, and 24-19 to Elmira College.

Codi Bomboy (Montrose, Pa./Elk Lake) picked up two wins at the 165-pound weight class as he took down Mitchell Sutter from Wilkes by fall. He also defeated Mikey Cross of New Jersey City in an overtime thriller, 21-18. Also in the New Jersey City match, Nero Bono (Southboro, Mass./Assabet Valley) tallied a win at 285 pounds by pin.

The final match of the quad meet saw takes on the Soaring Eagles from Elmira College where Justin Santiago (Middletown, N.Y./Middletown) was victorious at 149 with a major decision win versus Patrick Stauring. Mariano Monacelli (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) and Dalten Klinges (Nicholson, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) both won by fall at 174 and 184 pounds, respectively. Rocco Arduini (Harpursville, N.Y./Harpursville) picked up an overtime decision win versus Elijah Gonzaga at 285 pounds.

The Giants head to the University of Scranton for the Electric City Duals which is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m.
