LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball dropped a heartbreaker at home to St. Elizabeth University 80-78 Wednesday evening in the Gambal Athletic Center.
Keystone drops 3-5 with a 1-1 mark in United East Conference play. St. Elizabeth improves to 2-5 with a 1-1 conference record as well.
Boston Caldwell (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) poured in a game high 21 points. Daryl Coleman (Allentown, Pa./Southern Lehigh) scored 17 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks. Brandon Scott (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) contributed with 15 points and five rebounds. John Brice (Saint Augustine, Fla./Menendez) added 10 points off the bench.
The Eagles had big games from Tye-Rell Monroe who scored 35 points with four rebounds and four assists. Cam'Ron Martel had a double-double with 30 points and 21 rebounds. He also had four blocks in the contest.
St. Elizabeth held a 78-76 lead in the closing seconds where Brice would score the game tying layup with around nine seconds remaining. Following an Eagles timeout, Malamin Kaba scored the game winner floater at the buzzer to complete the miraculous win.
The Giants shot close to 43 percent from the field and was outrebounded 50-41 in tonight's conference bout. The game consisted of 11 lead changes and the score being tied 11 times.
Keystone will hit the road to face Rosemont College on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.
