LA PLUME, Pa. – Keystone women's basketball took on Saint Elizabeth University at home on Wednesday night and came up short as the Eagles took home a 51-49 victory over the Giants.
This victory moves the Eagles to a season record of 5-3 and a conference record of 2-0. Conversely, the Giants fall to a 3-5 season record and an 0-2 record in the United East.
Keystone's scoring efforts were led by Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) who ended the day with eight points, followed closely by Ginger Kerdock (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) and Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) who each finished with seven. Ortiz led the team in total rebounds with nine while Lisa Star (Wanaque, N.J./Lakeland Regional) helped the team on defense with five defensive rebounds and three blocks in the game.
For Saint Elizabeth, Yasminah White put on an offensive showcase finishing the night with 20 points after shooting 50 percent from the field, including going 2-2 from the three point line. On defense, Paige Neal stood out with seven defensive rebounds, two blocks, and six steals.
Keystone will be on the road Saturday, December 7 to take one Penn State Berks. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
