LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team dropped a tough United East Conference battle with Wilson College by a final score of 67-66 Saturday afternoon.
Keystone drops to 8-13 (8-5 United East Skye Division). Wilson improves to 11-10 (9-3 United East Skye Division).
Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western) led Keystone with 19 points and five rebounds. D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) scored 12 points with seven rebounds. Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) was an assist shy of a double-double with 10 points, nine assists, and six steals. DaShaun Johnson (Montgomery Village, Md./Clarksburg) and Tyler Fox (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) combined for 17 points.
Wilson was led by Tyrik Ward-Hoyte who had 15 points and four rebounds. Trea Keys scored 14 points off the bench. Gary Robertson and Darryl Garib both added 13 points.
The Phoenix held a 65-63 in the closing minute of the ball game. A big three by Anderson gave Keystone the lead with 35 seconds left. Following a timeout from Wilson, Robertson would hit a go-ahead layup with six seconds remaining. With some clutch defense from the Phoenix, they survived on the road and came away with the conference victory.
Despite having a 32-26 advantage at the end of the first half, Wilson outscored Keystone 41-34 in the second.
Keystone is at Cairn University next Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m.
