MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.- The Keystone College softball team suffered two defeats as they fell to Maine Farmington 4-3 followed by a 16-3 loss to Scranton on Monday in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.
With the two losses, Keystone falls to 1-3.
Maine Farmington: 4; Keystone: 3
Brooke Staple (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale Area) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Isabella Benitez (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) recorded an RBI base knock. Isabella Mandarano (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) and Elle Olivero (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) both had base hits.
Clare Johns (Skippack, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) got the start and went the entire six innings allowing 10 hits, four earned runs, and seven strikeouts.
Scranton: 16; Keystone: 3 (5 inn.)
Olivero and Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit) tallied two hits and scored once. Benitez, Staple, and Emily Schultz (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) all had an RBI on the day.
Grace Lorah (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) got the starting nod and went 1.2 innings with three strikeouts. Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) and Johns appeared in relief.

The Giants will get a day off and will return to the field on Wednesday, Mar. 13 when they take on Mount Aloysius College at 11 a.m. and The College of New Jersey at 1 p.m.
