DAVENPORT, Fla.- The Keystone College baseball team picked up their second straight shutout victory as they defeated Rutgers-Newark 4-0 Thursday morning.
Keystone moves to 5-4 with the win. Rutgers-Newark snaps their six-game win streak and fall to 8-4.
Chase Boyle (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) went 3-for-4 with an RBI double. Darren Hagan (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley), Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella), and Andy Rivas (Bronx, N.Y./Academy for Language and Technology) both tallied two hits with Hagan recording an RBI triple. Nate Ewing (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) and Justin Mann (St. John's, Fla./Bartram Trail) contributed with an RBI.
Quinn Holt (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) had a solid day on the mound as he went six innings, gave up two hits, no runs, and struck out eight batters. Justice Ramirez (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) went two innings of relief and recorded two strikeouts. Julian Gonzalez (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his first save of the season.
The Giants continue their Spring Break trip tomorrow afternoon as they face Ripon College at 1 p.m.
