Giants Put Away Another Win with Huge Two-Out Rally in the Seventh

LA PLUME, Pa. – Keystone baseball faced off against Clarks Summit University at home on Wednesday afternoon for their fourth conference game of the week. After a slow start, the Giants put the game away in the seventh inning after scoring seven runs with two outs and defeating the Defenders 16-5.

Keystone is now 13-5 on the season (4-0 in the United East) while Clarks Summit is 3-18 (1-3 in the United East).

Nate Ewing (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) posted four RBI after getting two hits in three at bats. David Curreri (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) brough across two RBI after a perfect four hits in four at bats, and Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) brought home two with one hit in two at bats.

On the mound, Slothing Che (Santo Domingo, D.R./Instituto Tecnologico Fabio Amable Mota) picked up seven strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Jacob Yager (Grahamsville, N.Y./Tri-Valley) made an appearance on the mound and recorded one strikeout in 0.2 innings. Drew Sorrentino (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) then took over and was credited with the win after four strikeouts and zero earned run in three innings.

Keystone will be on the road on Thursday, March 28 as they head to take on the Patriots at Valley Forge. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at UVF Ballpark.
