ASTON, Pa. – The Giants continued a long week of baseball as they hit the road on Thursday afternoon for a conference matchup against the Patriots of Valley Forge. After jumping out to a quick 4-1 lead in the first inning, Keystone held on to the lead the whole game and finished with a 13-4 victory.
Keystone is now 14-5 on the season (5-0 in the United East) while Valley Forge is 5-14 (0-4 in the United East).
Jacob Yager (Grahamsville, N.Y./Tri-Valley) posted five RBI on three hits in five at bats. All three hits were for extra bases as Yager ended the day with two triples, one double, and an RBI groundout to the shortstop. Darren Hagan (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley) also added two RBI with three hits in three at bats.
On the mound, Sean Brennan (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) picked up his fourth win of the season moving him to a 4-0 record. Brennan pitched six complete innings, striking out nine batters while allowing four hits and two earned runs.
Keystone and Valley Forge will both head back to La Plume as they are slated to square off again on Friday, March 29 in a double-header at Christy Mathewson field. The first game is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
