BRYN ATHYN, Pa.- The Keystone College men's lacrosse team opened conference play with a bang as they defeated Bryn Athyn College 25-7 Saturday afternoon.
Keystone moves to 4-7 (1-0 United East) and Bryn Athyn drops 2-3 (0-1 United East).
Cam Wallace (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada/Foothills Composite) scored a game high six goals with one assist. Wilson Ingalls (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada/Holy Trinity Academy), Ryan Smith (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South), and Abe Wallace (Okotoks, Alberta, Canada/Foothills Composite) each tallied a hat trick. Wallace also had three assists in the win. Austin Griffiths (Ponoka, Alberta, Canada/Ponoka Secondary Campus) and Chris Armas (Vancouver, Wash./Mountain View) both tallied two goals while Noel Gonzalez (Westminster, Colo./Westminster), Tyler McManus (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow), Joe Manfredo (Levittown, N.Y./General Douglas MacArthur), Chase Richardson (Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada/Wetaskiwin Comp), and Ethan Urbanski (Huntsville, Ontario, Canada/Huntsville) scored once.
Armas and Cody Dembski (Agoura Hills, Calif./Agoura) both won a dozen faceoffs. Dembski recorded 14 ground balls.
Defensively, Edwin Himmel-Maines (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) made 11 saves in goal. Timmy Fisher (Trevose, Pa./Neshaminy) caused six turnovers.
For Bryn Athyn, Jamal White tallied a hat trick and two assists. Nicholas Yi scored twice, and Jayden McGonagle and Aidan Esack had a goal each.
The Giants outshot the Lions, 67-42. The team had an 84 percent success rate on clear attempts.
Keystone heads to Cairn University next Saturday, Apr. 6 at 7 p.m.
