MORRISTOWN, N.J.- The Keystone College softball team split their United East Conference doubleheader Wednesday afternoon.
Keystone took the first game 7-5 but dropped game two 9-2. The Giants are now 7-8 (5-1 United East Skye Division). The Eagles move to 6-9 (1-3 United East Skye Division).
Game One: Keystone 7, St. Elizabeth 5
Elle Olivero (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) went 2-for-4 with two RBI. The senior had an RBI SAC fly and an RBI double. Isabella Benitez (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) also went 2-for-4 with a run batted in. Isabella Mandarano (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) and Brooke Staple (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale Area) both had two hits in the first game. Karina Jennings (Milltown, N.J./Spotswood) and Hanaje Riley (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) combined for three RBI.
Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) was the game on starter as she went the entire seven innings and struck out five batters.
Game Two: St. Elizabeth 9, Keystone 2
Emily Schultz (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) went 2-for-3 on the afternoon. Christina Carreon (Clifton, Va./Centreville) and Kabrina Birmingham (Burlington, N.J./Burlington City) contributed with an RBI each.
Clare Johns (Skippack, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) was in the circle in game two as she also pitched a complete. The sophomore recorded two strikeouts in the second game.
