SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa.- The Keystone College softball was swept at home to Rosemont College by finals scores of 3-0 and 8-5 Tuesday afternoon in United East Conference action.
With the two defeats, Keystone falls to 7-11 (5-3 United East Skye Division). Rosemont improves to 7-13 (5-1 United East Skye Division).
Game One: Rosemont 3, Keystone 0
Offensively, the Giants were led by Elle Olivero (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) who had two hits on the afternoon. Isabella Mandarano (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) and Brooke Staple (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale Area) both had one.
Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) got the start in game one and went the whole seven innings as she struck out nine and allowed one earned run.
Game Two: Rosemont, Keystone 5
Staple and Mandarano both tallied three hits in the second game as Mandarano recorded two RBI. Isabella Benitez (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown), Karina, Jennings, and Hanaje Riley (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) all tallied an RBI base knock.
Clare Johns (Skippack, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) was the game two starter as the sophomore pitcher went seven innings with five strikeouts.
