Giants Split Double Header at Home Against the Phoenix

LA PLUME, Pa. – After a tough loss on the road to Wilson College, Keystone came back home to play them in a double-header on Sunday afternoon. Keystone won game one of this matchup with a final score of 5-2 but fell just short in game two with a score of 7-6 after the game got called at the end of the eight due to weather.

Game 1: Wilson 2, Keystone 5

 Sean Mindas (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) picked up two RBI in game one with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fourth inning, and an RBI single to left field in the bottom of the sixth. Josh Parks (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma) also picked up an RBI in the fourth inning with a single to right field, which was one of two hits Parks had on the day.

 On the mound, Brayan Villar (West Orange, N.J./Belleville) picked up his fourth win of the season after pitching a complete seven-inning game. Villar struck out 10 batters in game one while giving up three hits, two earned runs, and two walks.

 Game 2: Wilson 7, Keystone 6

Justin Mann (St. John's, Fla./Bartram Trail) picked up three hits in three at bats in game two, while David Curreri (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) and Darren Hagan (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley) each brought in two hits and one RBI.  

Aidan Pawlak (Brooklyn, N.Y./Millennium Brooklyn) got the start on the mound in game two and struck out three batters in 3.2 innings pitched. After a rain delay in the middle of the second game, Drew Sorrentino (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) made an appearance where he struck out two batters in just one inning pitched.  

Game two was called at the end of the eighth inning due to inclement weather. 

What's Next

Keystone will be back on the road on Wednesday (April 17) to face the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill in Cobleskill, New York. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
