LA PLUME, Pa. – The Giants came up short in both games of a double-header against Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon, losing the first game 10-3 and the second game 8-4
Game 1
After the Nittany Lions put up three runs in the top of the second inning, the Giants answered with three runs of their own when Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) hit a three-run home run to left field. However, Penn State answered back with three more in the top of the third inning and continued adding runs throughout the game with no answer from Keystone.
Sean Brennan (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) started game one for Keystone and now has his first loss of the season after giving up six earned runs, six hits, and four walks in 4.2 innings pitched. Brennan did pick up seven strikeouts in this outing.
Kyle Caringi (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) came in to relieve Brennan in the fifth inning. Caringi would go on to pitch 3.1 innings before Matthew McElligott (Columbus, OH/Bishop Hartley) came in to close out the game.
Game 2
By the end of the fourth inning of game two, the score was tied 2-2 with David Curreri (Beach Lake, Pa./Honesdale) and Darren Hagan (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley) each picking up an RBI in the bottom of the third. The game remained tied until Penn State broke it open with four runs in the seventh inning and then two more in the eighth. Andy Rivas (Bronx, N.Y./Academy for Language and Technology) sent a solo home run over the fence in left-center field in the seventh, and Bobby Pokorney (Margate, Fla./J.P. Taravella) added an RBI single, but Keystone could not climb their way back and lost game 2 with a final score of 8-4.

Keystone will be heading up the road to the University of Scranton for a non-conference game starting at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 7.
