Women’s Volleyball Defeats Rutgers-Newark and Goucher in Home Tri-Match

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College women's volleyball team picked up two wins in their first home tri match as they defeated Rutgers-Newark and Goucher 3-0 Saturday afternoon in the Gambal Athletic Center.

Keystone improves to 3-0 with the two victories.

Keystone 3; Rutgers-Newark 0

The Giants swept the Scarlet Raiders by scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-21. Sofia Green (Portland, Ore./Mountainside) posted nine kills while Kaliyah Brown (Maricopa, Ariz./Sequoia Pathway Academy) and Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) both had eight. Tobi West (Hoopeston, Ill./Hoopeston Area) and Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) combined for assists while Catie Woolf (Fremont, Ohio/Saint Joseph Central Catholic) had 23 digs.

For Rutgers-Newark, Ilderis Tracey added six kills and Jaedyn Simba-Malasarte contributed with 13 digs.

Keystone 3; Goucher 0

Similar to Rutgers-Newark, Keystone would also sweep Goucher 25-12, 25-18, and 25-16. Green and Hallam both had eight kills. Woolf recorded 14 digs and five service aces while West added 21 assists.

The Gophers led by Emma Taylor who had five kills and Vivian Huddleston and Oliva DeBlasio together tallied 15 assists.

What's Next

Keystone will gear up for their first road contest of the 2024 campaign as they head to Penn State Hazelton on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
