Women’s Volleyball Dominates Another Tri-Match

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Keystone College women's volleyball opened play at the King's College tri-match on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over the Monarchs. This matchup improved Keystone's record to 6-2 overall, while King's dropped to 6-1.

With 12 kills, four aces, and three blocks, Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) was the leader in all three categories against King's College. Meanwhile Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) led the team with 26 assists and Catie Woolf (Fremont, Ohio/Saint Joseph Central Catholic) picked up 20 digs.

Later in the day, Keystone swept Medgar Evers College in three straight sets with scores of 25-5, 25-9, and 25-11. Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) and Kameryn Cortinas (Los Banos, Calif./Pacheco) each had eight kills in this matchup, tying for the leader in kills while Taylor Howard (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) followed behind with five. Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) also led the team with eight aces, followed closely by Hannah Ely (New Albany, Pa./Wyalusing Valley) who picked up seven. Genevieve Mennemeyer (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit West) led the team with 15 assists, and Cassidy Fredo (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) and Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) each saw three digs before the match was over.

The Giants recorded 34 service aces in that match which is a new program record for service aces in a match. 

The Giants will be back home on Tuesday, September 17 to take on Elmira College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
