Women’s Volleyball Moves to 10-2 on the Season After Another Successful Tri-Match

LA PLUME, Pa. – Keystone women's volleyball swept Purchase College and FDU-Florham at home on Saturday afternoon, moving their overall record to 10-2 on the season

Game 1

Saturday's tri-match opened with a matchup between the Panthers of Purchase College and the Keystone College Giants. Keystone won this match in three straight sets with scores of 25-17, 25-8, and 25-11.

Sofia Green (Portland, Ore./Mountainside) led the Giants offensively with seven kills in the match, and Messana Haslock (Park City, Utah/Park City) had a great game with 19 assists. Defensively, Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) picked up 12 digs and Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) left the first match with two blocks. Catie Woolf (Fremont, Ohio/Saint Joseph Central Catholic) also added eight service aces and 10 digs.

Game 2

Later in the afternoon, Keystone took on the Devils of FDU-Florham. The Giants won again in three straight sets with scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-21.

Kaliyah Brown (Maricopa, Ariz./Sequoia Pathway Academy) was the offensive leader in this match with 10 kills followed closely by Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) with nine. Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) picked up 22 assists while Tobi West (Hoopeston, Ill./Hoopeston Area) added another 16. Defensively, freshmen Catie Woolf (Fremont, Ohio/Saint Joseph Central Catholic) and Bella Brienza (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) combined for 19 digs, ten from Woolf and 9 from Brienza.

For the Devils, Rachel Reiter and Tayla O'Connor both led the team with eight kills apiece. Amaya Ocasio had 17 assists in the match, and Kiara Salme led the way defensively with 13 digs.

Women's volleyball will be back home on Tuesday, September 24 to take on Penn State Scranton at 7:00 p.m.
