BALTIMORE, Md.- The Keystone College women's basketball team picked up a massive conference win on the road as they defeated Notre Dame of Maryland 57-54Â Saturday afternoon.
Keystone moves to 9-6 (2-3 United East) while Notre Dame falls to 4-10 (3-4 United East). This is the program's first win over the Gators since February 2022.Â
Tamari Hubbard (Bronx, N.Y./Mott Haven) snagged a double-double as she scored 17 points with 11 rebounds. Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) had 11 points with six rebounds and two steals. Izzy Rosario (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) added eight points.
Notre Dame's Amani Watts posted a double-double as she led the team with 26Â points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Elena Rodriguez scored 10Â points while shooting 78 percent from the field. She grabbed four rebounds in the loss.
The Giants trailed 25-22 to Notre Dame at the break and outscored the Gators 14-29 in the third quarter. The Gators made a comeback in the final quarter as the squad went on a 25-16 run, but they would fall short in the end. Keystone shot 41Â percent (20-of-49) in the contest.
The Giants host Cedar Crest College on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m.
