LA PLUME, Pa. – Keystone women's basketball moved to 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the conference on Tuesday evening with a conference win over the Falcons of Cedar Crest College. For the Falcons, this loss moves them to 5-5 on the season and 3-4 in the United East.
Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) and Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) led the Giants offensively, combining for 29 points. Bryant ended the night with a field goal percentage of 47, while Ortiz picked up a field goal percentage of 57 and went four for four from the free throw line. Ortiz also stood out defensively with six steals and three defensive rebounds, followed by Ginger Kerdock (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) with three steals and four defensive rebounds.
The Falcons saw impressive offensive efforts from Caylie Long and Rachel Bilger. Long finished the game with 17 points 11 rebounds and two assists. She also picked up six steals on the defensive side of the ball. Bilger picked up 14 points and five offensive rebounds for the Falcons while shooting 50 percent from the field and going 4-5 from the free throw line.
Keystone women's basketball will be on the road on Saturday January 18th to take on the Nittany Lions of Penn State Brandywine in Media, Pennsylvania. This game is scheduled to start at 1:00 P.M.
