LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team used a strong second half to secure an 86-78 win over Valley Forge Monday afternoon.
Keystone moves to 8-7 (6-2 United East).
Five Giants finished in double figures as Daryl Coleman (Allentown, Pa./Southern Lehigh) was a rebound shy of a double-double as he had 19 points with nine rebounds, and five blocks. Brandon Scott (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) scored 17 points while Boston Caldwell (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) added 14. D'Andre Sutherland (Miramar, Fla./West Broward) finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Fox (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) added 12 points and four steals. Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) had a game high six steals.
Valley Forge's Isaiah Reece notched 18 points and Christian Renninger had 14 points and six assists. Nasir Bernard posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Ty Bates also scored 10 points in the contest.
Keystone trailed 43-41 at the break and outscored Valley Forge 45-35 to pull away with the victory. The Giants shot 43 percent from the field and 91 percent from the foul line. They narrowly lost the rebound battle as they were outrebounded, 40-39.
The Giants head to Penn State Harrisburg for their next game on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.
