LA PLUME, Pa.- Keystone's women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, losing 25-14, 25-14, 25-10.
From the opening serve, St. Mary's imposed its will offensively, racking up 36 kills while hitting .244 as a team.
The Giants struggled to find footing at the net, posting a negative hitting percentage (–.122) and committing 20 errors in 90 total attempts.
Defensively, Keystone managed 36 digs, with Naema Alatorre (Brownsville, Tex./Idea Frontier) leading the way (nine digs) and contributing four assists and two service aces. Hailey Mowry (Vail, Ariz./Cienega) added four kills and chipped in two blocks. On the front line, Jamilah Higgins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Purcell Martin) tallied two blocks to lead the team in that category.
The Seahawks were paced by Julia Bobrowski with seven kills and Maya Mauro with six, while Stella Marrero anchored the defense with 16 digs.
Keystone (1-17, 0-4 United East) travels to Allentown, Pa. to face Cedar Crest College on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
