In the first set, Keystone dug in and made it tight. The Giants leaned on their balanced offense as Marshall, Davis, and Higgins, all recorded kills. Keystone edged ahead late with a service ace by Davis to make it 23-21, but the Falcons got a point off a service error. The Giants were able to close out the first set off a Cedar Crest service error and an Alatorre service ace.
The second set saw the Falcons extend their mid-match consistency. Keystone had moments as Marshall pounded a kill to rally at 3-8, and Bermudez's kill earned a rally point. However, Cedar Crest's reliability in offense and defense carried them ahead. A run late in the set broke open the margin, and the Giants could not recover.
Cedar Crest started the third set red hot as they scored 17 unanswered points off a barrage of aces, kills, and unforced errors. After the Giants grabbed their first point, the Falcons would close out the third set on an 8-2 run.
The Falcons used the momentum from the third set and were able to capture the fourth set and match.
Cedar Crest led in several statistical categories as they posted a 46-24 margin on kills and tallied 21 service aces, compared to five from the Giants.
Keystone (1-18, 0-5 United East) remains away as they face Penn State Harrisburg tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
