Brandywine Blanks Men's Soccer, 2–0

LA PLUME, Pa.- Keystone's men's soccer team came up short at home on Tuesday evening, falling 2–0 to Penn State Brandywine.

The visiting team struck first in the 21st minute when Dakari Burton converted a feed from Robbie Warren to put the Nittany Lions on the board.

Keystone pressed for an equalizer in the remainder of the half, but their attempts, including shots from Leo Arrieta (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) and Nephtali Gonzalez (Houston, Tex./Sam Rayburn) were handled by Braden Warwick in goal.

Early in the second half, momentum briefly swung in favor of the Giants, but disaster struck in the 53rd minute when a misplay resulted in an own goal, doubling the Nittany Lions's lead.

From that point, Keystone tried to claw back, racking up a 19-shot total to Penn State Brandywine's 10, and outshooting them 11–6 in the second half alone. But only eight of Keystone's 19 shots were on target, and Warwick made the stops when needed.

Keystone's goalkeeper, Kolten McVean (Dickinson, Tex./Dickinson), faced heavy pressure, recording three saves while conceding both goals. Brandywine's Warwick was more tested, making eight saves in the clean sheet effort.

The Giants (2-9-0, 0-3-0 United East) hosts St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. for the homecoming game.
