LA PLUME, Pa.- Keystone College women's basketball opened its 2025–26 season with a tough 86–42 setback to visiting Haverford College Saturday afternoon at the Gambal Athletic Center.
Haverford (1–0) set the tone early with a dominant first quarter, shooting 70.6% from the field while jumping out to a 34–7 lead. The Fords maintained control throughout the afternoon, leading 56–18 at halftime and holding Keystone (0–1) to 22.9 percent shooting for the game.
Aaliyah Barnes (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) paced the Giants with 18 points and 11 rebounds, recording a double-double of her own. Jayda Price (York, Pa./William Penn) added seven points and six rebounds, while Phaneirra Barnett (Baltimore, Md./Edgewood) grabbed seven boards. Hailee Hackett (Carmicahel, Calif./Rio Americano) chipped in six points and three assists.
Caroline Orza led Haverford's offense with a game-high 33 points, connecting 12 of 18 shots, including six three-pointers. Audrey Jakway powered the interior with 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Brianna Feifer contributed 15 points and 10 boards for a double-double.
Shae Mercer added 10 assists and 10 rebounds for another double-double as the Fords outrebounded the Giants 61–48 and tallied 23 assists on 33 field goals.
Keystone's bench produced 25 of the team's 42 points, but the Giants were hampered by cold shooting from the field and free-throw line, finishing 4-of-24 from beyond the arc and 6-of-19 at the stripe.
Haverford held a 40–14 advantage in points in the paint and forced 21 Keystone turnovers that led to 22 points.
The Giants host SUNY Geneseo Monday afternoon at 5 p.m.
