Men’s Basketball Concludes 2025 with Loss to Alvernia

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team wrapped up the calendar year with an 85-70 loss to Alvernia University Tuesday afternoon in the Gambal Athletic Center.

Keystone got 17 points from Ahmodrion Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Tech), 16 from Tyler Ditton (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley), and 14 from PJ Murphy (Scranton, Pa./Scranton). Jden Golding (Jacksonville, Fla./Clay) chipped in nine points and a team-high 13 rebounds, while Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) dished out nine assists.

Keystone shot 37.5 percent overall but found more rhythm from deep in the second half after starting 1-for-10 from three. The Giants also received a boost from their reserves, outscoring Alvernia's bench 32–17 and trailed by as few as eight early in the second half before the visitors' late surge.

Robert Cottrell paced Alvernia with 25 points while knocking down four three-pointers and handing out seven assists. Janye Stanley added 21 points and Elijah Hamilton turned in a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Rasheem Dearry supplied 15 points off the bench as Alvernia finished at 46.3 percent shooting from the floor and 35 percent from beyond the arc.

The Giants hung tough early and trailed just 39–31 at halftime, but the Golden Wolves shot better than 53 percent after the break and steadily stretched the margin to secure the road victory.

Alvernia won the rebounding battle 45–42 and capitalized with 19 second-chance points.

Keystone (2–11) kicks off 2026 on Saturday with a 1 p.m. United East Conference matchup against the University of Valley Forge.
