LANGHORNE, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team suffered another heartbreaking loss at the buzzer as they were defeated by Cairn University 86-83 Tuesday night in the Mason Activity Center.
Keystone falls to 12-10 with a 10-5 mark in United East Conference play.
Boston Caldwell (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake) was the team's leading scorer with 24 points. Tyler Fox (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) scored 18 points with four rebounds off the bench. Pete Laidley (Miramar, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter) had 17 points with six rebounds. Brandon Scott (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) contributed 14. Daryl Coleman (Allentown, Pa./Southern Lehigh) grabbed a game high 14 rebounds.
Corey Baldwin led Cairn with a double-double as he had 22 points and 11 rebounds. Ashton West added 21 points and six rebounds. Josiah Hardy scored 20 points with four assists. Isaiah Coleman dropped 12 points while Jadon Cepeda had 11 points, eight assists, five steals, and five assists.
The biggest issue for Keystone in this contest was turnovers as they committed four of them in the last two minutes of the contest. With 15 seconds left, Keystone had possession of the ball but lost the ball and would go into the hands of West. He would find a wide open Cepeda who knocked in the buzzer beating three off the backboard to win it for Cairn.
The Giants led the Highlander by ten with a little less than four minutes remaining. Cairn would go on a 17-4 run right afterwards to close out the game.
Keystone shot close to 52 percent from the field and about 47 percent from behind the three-point line.
The Giants will be back home on Saturday as they host Penn State Brandywine in their regular season finale on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3:30 p.m.
